ShareX

Learn how to configure ShareX for use with Filebase.

What is ShareX?

ShareX is a screen capturing, recording and file sharing application. ShareX can be used to upload screen recordings, screen captures, and other files to cloud storage. ShareX also offers a variety of tools such as image editors, video editors, and QR code creation.
Read below to learn how to use ShareX with Filebase.

Prerequisites:

  • Sign up for a free Filebase account.
  • Have your Filebase Access and Secret Keys. Learn how to view your access keys here.
  • Create a Filebase Bucket. Learn how to create a bucket here.

1. Open ShareX

2. Select ‘Destinations’ > ‘Destination Settings’.

3. Select ‘Amazon S3’ under File Uploaders, then configure the following settings:

  • Access Key ID: Filebase Access Key
  • Secret Access Key: Filebase Secret Key
  • Endpoints: US East (N. Virginia)
  • Endpoint: s3.filebase.com
  • Region: us-east-1
  • Bucket Name: Filebase Bucket Name
  • Upload Path: Path inside bucket to upload files to.

4. Next, change the image upload destination. Select ‘Destinations’, then ‘Image Uploader’, then select ‘Amazon S3’

5. Then change the text upload destination and file upload destination using the same workflow.

6. When finished, your destination listing should look like this:

7. Use the screen capture function to take a photo of your desktop and upload it to Filebase to test your configuration.

8. Your screen capture will be uploaded to your Filebase bucket.

9. Use the upload option on the left sidebar menu of the ShareX window to upload files, folders, or any other content from your computer.
