BackupAssist Classic
Learn how to configure BackupAssist Classic for use with Filebase.
What is BackupAssist Classic?
BackupAssist Classic is a versatile backup and recovery solution for Windows Server, Hyper-V, and SQL databases. BackupAssist Classic offers features such as scheduled backup jobs and a variety of backup destinations, including S3-compatible cloud solutions such as Filebase.
Read below to learn how to use BackupAssist Classic with Filebase.
1. Launch BackupAssist Classic. Select ‘Create a New Backup Job’:

2. Select ‘Cloud Backup’:

3. Select the hard drives and files you’d like to backup, then select ‘Next’:

4. Under ‘Destination media’, select ‘S3 compatible’, then select ‘Next’:

5. Configure your preferred backup schedule, then select ‘Next’:

6. In the ‘Set up destination’ tab, configure the following settings to connect to your Filebase account:

S3 Compatible Bucket: Filebase Bucket Name
Service URL:https://s3.filebase.com
Access Key ID: Filebase Access Key
Secret Access Key: Filebase Secret Key
Encryption password: Local encryption password - this is not related to your Filebase account and is a local value.
Then select ‘Check Destination’ to test your account’s credentials. You should receive the following confirmation message:

7. Select ‘Next’, then configure a mail server if desired. If not, select ‘Next’ again.

8. Give your backup job a name, then select ‘Next’:

9. Finally, select ‘Finish’ to save your backup job settings:

10. Then, in the ‘Manage backup jobs’ window, select ‘Run’ to run your Filebase backup job:

11. From here, you can monitor the running backup job’s progress:
