Learn how to use Duplicati with Filebase.

What is Duplicati?

Duplicati is a free backup software for Windows, Linux, and macOS X used for storing encrypted backups online. Duplicati is certified for use with Filebase.

Read below to learn how to use Duplicati with Filebase.

Prerequisites:

1. Open Duplicati.

Your interface should look similar to the following:

2. Select ‘Add Backup’ on the menu on the left side of the screen.

Select ‘Configure a New Backup', then click ‘Next’.

3. Enter the desired name for your backup and a description, choose your encryption method, and enter a passphrase for the backup.

Click ‘Next’ once you have filled out these fields.

4. Next, fill out the Backup Destination information.

  • Storage Type: S3 Compatible

  • Use SSL: Check Box

  • Server: Custom Server URL: s3.filebase.com

Do not include 'https://' in the custom server URL.

  • Bucket Name: Your bucket name

  • Bucket Create Region: us-east-1

  • Storage Class: Default

  • Folder Path: Name of folder within your bucket

  • AWS Access ID: Filebase Access Key

  • AWS Access Key: Filebase Secret Key

  • Client Library To Use: Amazon AWS SDK

5. Click ‘Test Connection’ to test the configuration.

6. Select the data you would like to backup using Duplicati.

You can select it from the GUI, enter a file path manually, and apply filters and exclusions.

7. Configure the schedule you’d like your backups to be run.

8. Configure additional backup options such as volume size and backup retention length.

9. Click Save.

You should see your Backup task reflected on the top of the Duplicati interface and listed under the ‘Home’ section.
