What is Wordpress Plugin - XCloner?

Wordpress XCloner is a Wordpress plugin for backing up your Wordpress websites and their content to S3-compatible cloud storage solutions like Filebase.

Read below to learn how to use Wordpress Plugin - XCloner with Filebase.

Prerequisites:

1. From your Wordpress dashboard, select your Wordpress site, then select ‘Plugins’ from the left side bar menu.

2. Search for ‘XCloner’.

3. Install the plugin.

4. After the plugin is installed, select the plugins menu from the left side bar menu, select ‘Installed’ then scroll down and find XCloner.

Select ‘Settings’ to manage this plugin.

5. From the plugin settings screen, select the ‘Dashboard’ drop down menu.

6. Select ‘Storage Locations’ from the drop down menu.

7. From the Storage Locations screen, select ‘Amazon S3’ and toggle it ‘On’.

Configure the following settings to connect to Filebase:

  • S3 Key: Filebase Access Key

  • S3 Secret: Filebase Secret Key

  • S3 Region: Leave blank to set a custom endpoint

  • S3 Custom Region: us-east-1

  • S3 Bucket Name: Filebase Bucket Name

8. Once filled out, select ‘Verify’ to verify these settings. You should receive a confirmation message:

9. To create a backup, select ‘Generate Backup’ from the dropdown menu.

Configure the backup options, database options, and file options as desired. In the ‘Send to Remote Storage’ option, select ‘S3’.

10. In the Generate Backup tab, confirm that the backup completes successfully.
