Learn how to configure qBackup for use with Filebase.

What is qBackup?

qBackup is a cross-platform file backup software that is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems. qBackup is a fast, efficient, and secure backup client option for uploading files to cloud endpoints such as Filebase.

Read below to learn how to use qBackup with Filebase.

Prerequisites:

1. Launch qBackup. Select ‘New’ in the top left-hand corner.

2. Give your storage project a name, then select the folders or files to include in the backup.

3. Select ‘Exclude’ from the sidebar menu to exclude folders or files from your backup, if desired.

If not, select ‘Storage’ to configure your backup location.

4. Configure the following settings to connect to Filebase:

  • Storage Type: Amazon S3

  • Use Access Key ID and Secret Access Key

    • Access Key ID: Filebase Access Key

    • Secret Access Key: Filebase Secret Key

  • Bucket Name: Filebase Bucket Name

  • Region: US_Standard

  • Storage Class: Standard

  • Service Side Encryption: AES256

  • Endpoint: s3.filebase.com

5. Select ‘Options’ to configure additional backup options for your backup job.

6. Then select ‘Ok’ to save your backup job settings.

7. Once saved, select your Backup job from the left side-bar menu, then select ‘Backup’ to run the job.

8. Confirm the job was successful, indicated by the ‘Completed’ status:
