Learn how to backup your DobiProtect NAS device to Filebase.

What is Datadobi DobiProtect?

Datadobi DobiProtect is a suite of Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices used for storing and keeping local or onsite backups of data. NAS devices come in many sizes and configurations, both for home users and enterprise level data storage. While they are important pieces of disaster and data recovery plans, if something were to destroy or corrupt the NAS device, the data stored on it would be lost. Therefore, backing up your NAS device to a form of offsite, cloud storage is just as important to your disaster or data recovery plan.

DobiProtect is certified for use with Filebase. Read below for steps to configure your DobiProtect device for backups to Filebase.

Prerequisites:

DobiProtect NAS device.
Sign up for a free Filebase account.
Have your Filebase Access and Secret Keys. Learn how to view your access keys here.
Create a Filebase Bucket. Learn how to create a bucket here.

2. Select the ‘Configuration’ tab and click ‘Object Storage’.

3. Click ‘Add’ on the bottom right corner to begin configuring the connection to Filebase.

4. Select ‘Other S3’ when prompted for the object storage type.

5. Enter the following information for Filebase configuration:

Protocol: https://
Endpoint: s3.filebase.com
Access Key: Your Filebase Access Key
Secret Key: Your Filebase Secret Key

6. Enter a name for your configuration and click ‘Next’.

7. You should now see all of your Filebase buckets and a list of available proxies.

Select all available proxies and click ‘Finish’ to complete the configuration.

9. Select ‘New Sync’ on the bottom right corner.

10. Configure the source of the data to be backed up and click ‘Next.’

11. Select the Filebase object storage as the destination server and enter the desired bucket name to use.

12. Click ‘Next’ then ‘Finish’ in the next window to confirm the selections and schedule your backup sync job.

Your NAS data is not being backed up to your Filebase bucket.

hashtag11. Select the Filebase object storage as the destination server and enter the desired bucket name to use.

hashtag12. Click ‘Next’ then ‘Finish’ in the next window to confirm the selections and schedule your backup sync job.
